I saw a great version of this with the Garcia & Kahn acoustic, at the Beverly Theater on 5/31/85 . The crowd, bless their hearts, was so over enthuestic , that it was hard to hear Jerry ! Masterpiece , being a song , they didn't know at the time, they were mostly quiet, so I could hear it !
I have always loved that song, since I got Dylan's version ( with Leon Russell), on the Greatest Hits Vol. II . The Band's , with Levon Helm singing, Is one of the Band's great moments ( the best on their album Cahoots ).
So I was pretty happy to hear Jerry, then The Dead , do it . Garcia's versions, stack up there with the Dylan/Band versions,( Dylan, by the way , always like Jerry's versions of his songs ) . Weir's versions are, bless his heart,in my opinion, not the same league, but still pretty decent, and it was always great to get a "new" Bobby song .

Levon is a national treasure,He also paints a beautiful masterpeice. The roads that Dylan has layed will stand the test of time just as Michaelangolo's David.
